Who are you, and what do you do?
My name is Aaron Lieber and I began my career as an intern at TransworldSURF Magazine. During my rookie year in the industry I secured funding for his first film, The Pursuit, through Studio 411. Two years later I released the film and graduated with a BA from CSULB. After that Nike Surfing hired me to produce surf content and during that time I also got to work on the Nike Chose – Just do it commercial, as well as the filming and editing of Leave A Message. My last film was, Zero to 100 – The Lakey Peterson Story, and it was #1 on iTunes and featured on Netflix.
What forms of media have influenced you the most?
Gosh I never was much of a reader, more of a day dreamer. Although, I was forced to read some great books because I had some great teachers growing up. But Taylor Steele surf films and motion picture films probably influenced me the most. Beyond that I am always inspired by music, it definitely drives me and my mood.
What hardware / software do you use?
Right now I have a Mac Pro and G Technology Studio XL then I travel with EV drives – makes for the most efficiently and safe system for a small production company like myself.
What would be your dream creative setup?
Overlooking the ocean or a massive landscape with the ocean somewhere in view.
