Tiffy Diamond
Who are you, and what do you do?
My name is Tiffy Diamond, I’m an advertising producer and co-founder of Live.Art.Love in Los Angeles. Live.Art.Love is a creative company that specializes in commercials, documentary and fashion. I enjoy my job because it allows me to flex my creativity with top brands, including: Napa Auto Parts, Reebok, AT&T, eHarmony, Footlocker and Head and Shoulders.
What forms of media have influenced you the most?
I’m inspired by all forms of media but filmmaking and screenwriting are my heart. I worked at a number of production companies before branching off on my own. I incorporate that passion into commercial projects by creating “mini short films.” I study films, especially indie on a daily basis. You have to continue to grow in a creative industry.
When it comes to music, I use playlists depending on what type of commercial, treatment or pitch I need to write for a client. Different music can spark different emotions and that helps when writing.
What hardware / software do you use?
Everything I own is primarily Apple – iMac desktop computers, iPads and iPhones. Software I use creatively are: Final Draft, Final Cut, and Adobe Creative Suite. In terms of productivity and collaboration, I use Google Drive and Evernote. Evernote being a favorite for creative ideas, saving articles, organizing shoots etc.
What would be your dream creative setup?
I remember learning that Maya Angelou would routinely write in blank hotel rooms. I love that idea and have often fantasized about getting a hotel room by the beach to write. When writing or editing I like to have minimal distractions. My favorite writing tools are a notebook and pen. There’s something about free form writing, scratching out mistakes, and racing to get thoughts out. Many stories started on paper before making it to Final Draft.
